Good news for Coach; the revamp is working and sales are enjoying an upswing. Clearly its customers are loving the retro-modern Americana references cooked up by Stuart Vevers of late (not to mention the endless ads of girls-and-cars). Next step? When it comes to bags versus shoes, I’m much more of a bag girl. Bags are practical, they’re harder working, while shoes only really do one job. A new bag feels a bit like a new back-to-school pencil case, symbolising potential and possibility. Oh, the places we’ll go!

Ahhh, Regent Street, the legendary John Nash-designed crescent that leads to Piccadilly Circus. It’s as English as tea at Fortnum’s and yet, times are slowly a-changing. Stroll along south of Oxford Circus and you can’t miss the imposing hoardings for Coach, Michael Kors and Polo Ralph Lauren, the American megabrands about to take up residence this summer. (more…)
