All attention has been on couture this week, with a wonderful Valentino show (Valentino is winning couture for me at the mo, not least for Pierpaolo’s studio antics), a pleasingly understated Dior show, and a shimmering Chanel show (watch my verdict on SHOWstudio). R.I.P. Judith Leiber

Rest in peace handbag legend Judith Leiber, who died within hours of her husband last weekend at the age of 97. Her story was fascinating. An émigré from Budapest, she set up her own company in New York after learning her trade at Hungarian handbag-makers, Pessl. Her bags were a favourite of First Ladies – notably Nancy Reagan – but it was when she evolved from leather and satin to her surrealist crystal designs (in the shape of fruits, flowers and even Humpty Dumpty), that she found a cult following in showbiz A-listers and serious collectors. Petit Déjeuner X Dior: Way to Blue



The latest in the DRG Petit Déjeuner film series, is a celebration of friendship and creativity.

As soon as I saw the Dior AW17 collection, I knew I wanted to shoot it. The regiment of girls all in blue, from work wear to embroidered taffeta, to a shimmering dégradé sequin gown, all topped with leather berets, was just too wonderful a vision to ignore.

While dove grey is the colour usually associated with Dior, navy blue was a lesser-known favourite of Monsieur Dior. (more…)
