Summer mornings. Is there anything more pathos-inducing than the idea of our glorious summer dissipating into a distant memory? Will we look back in years to come on the Summer Of 2018 as the year of golden sunrises, a dreamlike did-it-really-happen myth, never to be experienced again in our lifetime? Hmmm, maybe that’s a tad melodramatic, but there’s something extra special about sun-soaked August mornings, especially those spent amongst lush foliage and blush-hued hydrangeas as far as the eye can see.
On the upside, this in-between gap of post-summer, not-quite-autumn has its own brand of optimism. The back-to-school feeling of potential, so much symbolic possibility bound up in a new pencil case/handbag/sweater (or is that just me?). Shooting the latest Petit Dejeuner instalment in our wannabe-Charleston garden, Ella and Bethany complemented the blooms with block-coloured smock dresses, a sunset-hued sweatshirt and LF Markey’s all-season utility pants in the exact shade of a just-picked sunflower (dad trainers and bucket hat, optional). Gotta look on the bright side…
Petit Déjeuner is a collaboration between Disneyrollergirl and Emma Miranda Moore. We create films and editorial shoots inspired by mornings, beginnings and reinventions. See all our Petit Déjeuner stories here.
