I’m all for pyjama dressing, but how to make sure your piped Dolce & Gabbana pjs and brocade Gucci slippers don’t look like you just tumbled out of bed? Easy. First make sure you go for a thicker, luxer class of PJ, so look at Dolce, Marni, Dries van Noten and Gucci. You can try wearing actual pyjamas for day wear, but let’s be honest, this requires a certain nonchalance to pull off. (more…)

1. DIOR FINALLY NAMES ITS NEW DESIGNER
An exciting week for Dior, who finally named Maria Grazia Chiuri as its incoming artistic director. I wasn’t convinced by the other suggestions but I love Chiuri’s work at Valentino and it will be interesting to see her take on modern femininity at Dior. The new Prada fragrance collection ‘Olfactories’ probably doesn’t need any more press coverage, but the marketing of these ‘fragrance collages’ appeals to my arty side. The idea is that the focus isn’t on notes or ingredients but the dreamy, subconscious feeling you get from these surrealist visuals. As Olfactories’ creator Daniela Andrier says, “there aren’t any explanations of the ingredients inside. I think it’s something we’re so fed up of; these eternal explanations of bergamot.” (more…)
