Here’s my theory. The 2020s hasn’t actually started properly because the first five years were stalled due to Covid and its after effects. Fashion-wise, could we be at the turning point now, with all the big runway debuts ringing in major changes (we hope)? Let’s see. For now, I’m still in my classics era, so I’m spotlighting the people and brands doing that really well, including the labels to target for the best pieces at non-crazy prices. Coachella calling – but it’s not what you think

When someone says ‘Coachella dressing’, I don’t think they quite picture Alexander Lewis’s refined cashmeres and expertly tailored blazers traipsing the plains. Well of course they don’t, but stay with me. Lewis specialises in ‘situation dressing’ and his situations tend to be rather creative. His SS15 has just arrived in store, an extension of his resort 15 collection where the situation was ‘My Grandmother on MDMA at Coachella’. Ahhh, all becomes clear right? (more…)



Harrods’ new shoe floor is retail heaven

Will we ever tire of buying shoes? Judging by the last few years, it would appear our appetites are bigger than ever. Each shiny new footwear department (some big enough to have their own postcode), mall and ecom site just opens up more possibility, choice and downright longing.
