Sweater girls at Hermès AW25

So many easy styling ideas to steal from Hermès AW25. There were a lot more skin-exposing looks than usual, but I still prefer the more ‘garconne’ vibe.

It’s all about the sweater-girl styling for me; a no-brainer to adopt without spending a cent. Firstly, double sweaters. I love this abbreviated take on an MA1 jacket (above), with the fine-gauge knits doubled around the waist. (Are the sweater sleeves threaded through the belt? What a great detail!) Next, the sweater-scarf styling around the neck. Clearly nothing new in itself, but it looks ultra-sophisticated when all in the same monotone. (more…)

I’m conflicted.

On the one hand I’ve long aspired to the XXL silhouettes of Studio Nicholson, Jil Sander and Phoebe Philo. On the other, I’m a short person. I frequently forget I’m not in fact a 5-foot 10 supermodel and continue to buy men’s sweaters, gargantuan trench coats and jumbo shirts as if I’m David Byrne in Stop Making Sense. Send help! (more…)

The aspirational familiarity of Lemaire and Auralee AW25

While the major fashion brands have seemingly gone nuts with their pricing, it makes sense that a certain demographic has shifted attention to Lemaire and Auralee. Both just showed at the menswear shows – precise (and practical) layering, easy-but-interesting silhouettes, harmonious colour palettes and distinctive accessories. Lemaire’s outerwear is particularly desirable with their gently exaggerated shoulders and I love the dopamine hits of red and green at Auralee (reminding me of Bally SS24). (more…)
