Positive fashion: inside the Maiyet Collective pop-up

Art, fashion and retail had a very cosy relationship last week. In particular, I discovered an ambitious London pop-up concept – with a difference. As the cashed-up art-fashion crowd descended on the city for Frieze Week, positive impact brand, Maiyet launched its monthly pop-up, Maiyet Collective in Conduit street.

It’s quite the insidery affair, hidden on the first floor of a new private members’ club with little chance of passing trade, plus it’s only open three days a month. But what a fabulous surprise when you venture inside. (more…)

I spotted this on WWD. Selected People is a new higher price offering from Denmark-based fast fashion brand Bestseller. Its point of difference is an aim to be as sustainable as possible, using organic and recycled cottons, wools, poplins as well as Modal and Lyocell. (more…)

For Days sustainable closed loop t-shirts

I like the sound of this ‘closed loop’ T-shirt company that works on a subscription model – with a difference. You sign up to get one, two or three tees a month and when your tee is looking worse for wear, you can return it in exchange for another one. The old tee gets broken down into pulp and upcycled into new stock. (more…)
