I WENT TO THE GOOP STORE AND I LIKED IT
Goop Westbourne Grove London store
I finally ventured into the Goop London pop-up store on Westbourne Grove to see what the fuss was about. I didn’t feel bombarded; I did see lots of stuff I wanted to buy. A set of amethyst-coloured tumblers, French Girl eye oil, lots of ecru-coloured cazhmere. Nothing ground-breaking, just comforting lifestyle porn at its best. Apparently it’s now a permanent fixture. All attention has been on couture this week, with a wonderful Valentino show (Valentino is winning couture for me at the mo, not least for Pierpaolo’s studio antics), a pleasingly understated Dior show, and a shimmering Chanel show (watch my verdict on SHOWstudio). Ami menswear for women
Having shown women wearing its menswear collection on its runways for successive seasons, Ami has official launched womenswear. Apparently, it noticed that 35-40% of sales were made to women and decided to act. Good call! I’ve always liked the typically Parisian smart-casual menswear from Ami, especially the knits and leather jackets. (more…)
