LIVESTREAM OR BE DAMNED
Now that livestreaming has become commonplace and you may as well watch your favourite show at home out of the rain (in London), the focus has shifted to livestreaming with the added bonus of tracking followers. Since Periscope burst onto the scene in March this year, with Burberry, then Dunhill, Belstaff and Marc Jacobs all using the Twitter-owned platform to beam shows, backstage tidbits or Q&As to live global audiences, the industry is changing its mind about the question of exclusivity. I’m sitting out LC:M this season but I enjoyed watching the Craig Green SS16 show via Caroline Issa’s Periscope – it felt a bit like I was sitting on her lap!

Like many ‘menswear’ designers, Green showed female models on his runway and certainly lots of the pieces looked interchangeable. One Periscope commenter called it ‘martial arts chic’, and there was a sense of that in the wrapped jackets and judo pants. (more…)

Fashion industry chiefs, creatives and media socialites gathered earlier this month for the inaugural WGSN Creative Futures event, held in London over two days to join the dots between creativity and commerce.
