Coach class

When it comes to featuring cars in fashion shoots, have you noticed only vintage cars will do? Here’s the perfect example; Coach’s first ever pre-fall campaign for its Coach 1941 women’s RTW and bag line. In this context though, a classic American, leather-interiored car absolutely nails it. What does contemporary Coach stand for, if not luxury leathers and iconic Americana?

The campaign was shot on location in Red Hook, Brooklyn, depicting Stuart Vevers’ vision of laid back but youthful luxury (that’s helping to revive the brand, to much acclaim). (more…)

Diane Arbus: In The Beginning

Diane Arbus In The Beginning at The Met Breuer, from July 12th 2016

New York really is calling my name at the moment. I’ve not been for aeons but I’m definitely feeling signs that I need to be there. For example, this exhibition, that The Met Breuer is hosting from July 12th. Diane Arbus: In The Beginning looks at seven important early years of the influential photographer, from when she took her first proper roll of 35mm film and presciently numbered it, #no 1.

There will be over 100 photographs on display, of which more than two-thirds have never been seen before. (more…)

My picks from Vogue Festival and Photo London 2016

Next weekend is set to be jam-packed with activity from a double whammy of Vogue Festival and Photo London. Vogue Festival in partnership with Harrods, is in its fifth year now and I think the line-up for next weekend is its best ever. I guess that’s to be expected though, when it’s also a celebration of 100 years of British Vogue. I’m particularly excited about the interviews with Grace Coddington, Juergen Teller and Gucci’s Allesandro Michele, all unique creatives who aren’t overexposed as media personalities. (more…)

Happy Birthday M.i.h Jeans! Chloe Lonsdale is celebrating 10 years of M.i.h Jeans with a pop-up shop and mini-collection called The Cult Denim Project. Selling ten favourite M.i.h pieces, it includes the chambray boiler suit, which is also one of my favourite M.i.h looks. (more…)
