1. CHANEL JUST LAUNCHED ITS FIRST DEDICATED MEN’S WATCH
It’s been a week of watches as Baselworld, the watch and jewellery fair exhibited all the new launches from the world’s biggest brands. Oh man, I’m gagging for the clocks to go forward, to rip off my Heattech and dark sweaters and let in the light. Specifically, I’ve got my eye on all the prim-collared broderie anglaise blouses doing the rounds (think Etoile by Isabel Marant and Philosophy) to wear with tailored trousers or Levi’s 501s and polished lace-ups.
It’s still only March though, so I’m trying not to get too carried away. Knitwear still reigns in my house, but hopefully in softer colours like the romantic pink Simone Rocha, or Chinti & Parker’s dove grey (I particularly like the layering-friendly curved hem on this one).
I have quite a few Equipment shirts, but they’re mostly dark neutrals so I think an uplifting upgrade to something in peachy pink could be in order. And although Chanel’s Beige Rose nail colour is a little bit safe, it’s nevertheless a perfect match for spring…

In case you hadn’t noticed, duvet coats, puffer* jackets, padded parkas, call them what you will, were all over the AW16 runways. Why duvet coats? The short answer; because it’s always bloody cold! The long answer; well, how long have you got?
Before the AW16 shows kicked off, supersized sleeping bag coats were already on my radar, having seen the above Norma Kamali example on Instagram (side note: do give Magazine_fan a follow if you’re a vintage fash-mag nut). And then the floodgates opened with outpourings of padded down goodness by everyone from Stuart Vevers at Coach to Alexander McQueen (a peachy satin butterfly-embroidered duvet coat fit for a princess), to the Stella McCartney one most likely to be copied by the high street.
