THE DRG STYLE INDEX: Chanel, Levi’s, Clinique, Maison Chateau Rouge, Charlotte Olympia X MAC

Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands currently buzzing on my radar…

1. CHANEL JUST LAUNCHED ITS FIRST DEDICATED MEN’S WATCH
Chanel de Monsieur watch Baselworld 2016
It’s been a week of watches as Baselworld, the watch and jewellery fair exhibited all the new launches from the world’s biggest brands. Chanel showed its first dedicated men’s watch, The Chanel de Monsieur, its first timepiece to be created entirely at its assembly plant in Switzerland. Yours for €30,000…

2. LEVI’S THE MOVIE

OK, not quite a feature-length movie, but the Levi’s 501 documentary is well worth a watch. The 501 Jean: Stories of an Original is split into three parts – Work, Style and Rebellion – and celebrates the remarkable cultural heritage and longevity of the much-loved jean. Watch the documentary above or click here.

3. SHOP CLINIQUE’S INTERACTIVE POP VIDEO

Clinique pop interactive shoppable video with zara larsson
Shoppable videos still haven’t quite caught onto the mainstream, but that doesn’t stop brands trying. Especially brands wanting to capture the glued-to-their-devices millennial market. Clinique has just launched a shoppable video with top 40 singer Zara Larsson, which lets you choose your favourite beauty look, then shop it instantly. I actually think this is very cute, and offering four get-the-look options is much more engaging than just the one. Check it out here.

4. MAISON CHATEAU ROUGE

Maison chateau rouge
A new French brand on my radar: Maison Chateau Rouge. I discovered their print-centric brand in Paris last week at the So Wax installation at Merci, where their cheery African wax prints are interpreted in Western shapes with sporty lettering. Based in the Chateau Rouge district of Paris, their next move is a store to celebrate the area.

5. CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA X MAC

Charlotte Olympia X MAC make-up collection
At last, a beauty line from Charlotte Olympia (well, sort of). If you appreciate Charlotte’s retro-tinged glamour, then I think you’ll love her capsule collection for MAC. It consists of cream eye shadows, matte lipsticks, cream lip pigments, nail polish, eyeliner, mascara and some fab beauty tools. My eye is on the make-up bag and the lipsticks which come in her signature clear Lucite casing, so much more appealing than the usual MAC black. Buy it HERE.
