Print media – but make it French

Harper's Bazaar France March 2023

Digital media is in meltdown. Again!

Buzzfeed news is dead, Paper followed suit and things aren’t looking too rosy for Vice. Meanwhile, everyone’s sick of Instagram and TikTok is burning us out, one braincell at a time.

It’s enough to send one running to the calm, serene refuge of print mags – particularly French ones. (more…)

Single or stack?

Cartier Trinity bracelet by Chitose Abe Sacai

Cartier has been in the news a lot in the last 12 months. Mostly for its watches (this was the latest release and this guy seems to be its most high profile collector), but this month for a new jewellery drop (above).

The Cartier x Chitose Abé (of Sacai fame) collab is perfectly in sync for the two design leaders. The culture of fashion: Gold by Yves Saint Laurent exhibition

Loulou de la Falaise - Gold by Yves Saint Laurent exhibition

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in avenue Marceau is fast becoming an essential part of the Paris Fashion Week itinerary. To coincide with this season’s shows, October 10th sees the opening of “Gold by Yves Saint Laurent“, a celebration of the ‘magical’ colour he used from his very first collection in 1962.

Alongside opulent sequin and lamé couture pieces, gilded accessories and objects, will be more than 300 pieces of jewellery designed by Saint Laurent muse and garconne icon, Loulou de la Falaise (above). Other highlights include rare perfume bottles, signature gold buttons (below) and surrealist finger jewellery by Claude Lalanne (below). (more…)
