Currently obsessed with these Sophie Buhai ss22 Nautilus Table boxes – ‘for your pearls, pills, vitamins or matches’. So chic it hurts.
While many say that commercial ‘seasons’ are redundant, I still get new season vibes just before Fashion Week. I think it makes me focused on the newness out there, plus the days are getting longer and I just want to let the light in my life, dammit!
However, new season to me rarely means a total ‘in then out’ about turn from the previous season. That kind of thinking has become outmoded lately anyway, as desirability has become “decoupled from consumption and coupled with knowledge, a story, belonging, and transformative potential to make us better humans.” Instead, this new season edit is an excuse to fill any gaps with updates rather than total novelty. For the coming year, my favourite unofficial visual search engine, Pinterest tells me that cleansing oil saves are up 555%, derma roller saves are up 345% and ‘vitamin C serum’ saves are up 3379%. I’m already converted to cleansing oils and I’ve only slightly dabbled in vitamin C – maybe this will be the year I go for it? (more…)
My default summer-into-autumn mode is everything tan. Tan leather especially, mixed with burgundy, camel, red, and a bit of denim. Tan leather bags seems to have taken over from black as the most popular neutral so there’s plenty of choice on that front.
