Perfect pairing: watch and bangle
A single chunky chain bracelet or slim bangle with a steel sports watch make a perfect pairing.
Rather than a stack of Love/Juste un Clou bracelets, or Van Cleef Alhambras, I prefer a less identifiable bangle from Le Gramme or a chain from Sophie Buhai* or Jennifer Alfano. It’s a good fall-back look for adding a suggestion of glam to plain sweaters or shirts, as demonstrated in this Jennifer Alfano profile, (above).
Alternatively, how about a watch with a chain strap? The Hermès Nantucket on a weighty silver chain is looking good to me, or even better, a Miles Davis-style curb chain with a teeny square watch face (below). If you’re lucky enough to locate one, that is (Foundwell sometimes has similar).
Meanwhile, this rare Hermès nautical link bracelet fitted with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch (below) was spotted on a guest at Simon Jacquemus’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. Added to basket Pinterest immediately.

Sorry but stacking watch and bracelet does not work for me. I find that a good watch needs to be left on its own. Also runs the risk of the chain scratching the watch. Stacking bracelets and beading on the opposite wrist is fine by me, Maor Cohen (M.Cohen Designs) being my preference.

You’re right Martin, that’s the general rule I know, but I’m not so precious with my watches. How about the Miles Davis one then?

A bit too chunky for me. I prefer Pilot watches, Military watches, Racing watches – with vintage styling.
