The Burch girls from Trademark are quietly building a solid brand, assembled around all my favourites – coats, knits and shirts. They arrived on the New York scene only a few seasons ago with their ‘modern preppie’ sweatshirts and considered accessories and have developed a strong signature that I guess is in keeping with the idea of American sportswear. That is, ‘sportswear’ in the traditional sense of everyday separates, as opposed to Lulu Lemon-esque ‘athleisure‘. (more…)

My personal favourite from the Charlotte Tilbury Norman Parkinson collection has to be the Matte Revolution lipstick in 1975 Red. It’s a great ‘colour-pop’ shade; well pigmented, beautifully formulated (matte but non-drying) and in stunning weighty golden packaging, so I think it’s worth the spendy £23 price. (more…)



Buy it now: New in for autumn



JW Anderson spoon pendants

It’s a bit cloudy today so I’m doing a new-in autumn shopping round-up. Starting with these stunning J.W. Anderson spoon pendants (above). These have just gone into Selfridges and J-W-Anderson.com – How delicious do they look? Also piquing my interest are the shoes and loafers from Dries Van Noten and Paul Smith, which I would wear with grey wool socks and my cropped tailored Joseph trousers.

Knitwear is a bit of a fetish of mine and the best bits tend to get snapped up fast. I love the school uniform colours of the Valentino sweater and the Marni mustard ombre menswear knit. Either would be a nice partner to the Dolce & Gabbana sheer tie neck blouse. Finally, you can’t go wrong with a camel coat – this one from Isabel Marant is relatively affordable at £620…

This delightful experience takes place in the Old Selfridges Hotel, an annexe behind Selfridges where you’ll ascend a couple of flights of stairs and find yourself seeemingly slap bang in the cross fire of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, New York.
