Gotta love that pretty much the whole Gucci AW15 collection went into production, mostly unmodified from what we saw on the runway. And if you break it down without the styling and kooky casting, you get desirable, wearable and very commercial clothes (goat hair Dougal-from-Magic-Roundabout-style slippers excepted). (more…)
On my wish list from YSL Beauté autumn 2015 are these 12-hour wear YSL Couture Kajals (£25). They can be used as eyeliners, kohls or eye shadows. I love a multi-tasking product and I think the long pointy nib of these will serve well for eyeshadow application. I prefer cream shadows because I like the malleability of blending with a finger. And these classic, inky colours – I love the ‘Vert Anglais’ khaki – are gorgeous. (You can read more YSL beauty newness at British Beauty Blogger.)
It’s that time of year when your eyes crave fashion newness but you don’t necessarily want to go down the full AW15 coat route (even though received wisdom says you should get your coat shopping done in July). The solution? A cheeky little accessory edit. I’m feeling & Other Stories’ chestnutty leather bag and these massive Clergerie clompy sandals paired with Marni’s plaid socks. Yes, I would probably break my neck in the Clergeries (and these Rachel Comey stompers – although kudos to Comey for adding the alpaca sole to help with sock grip) but just humour me for now. I also love the tactile curves of Marni’s ball jewellery along with &Other Stories’ stack of copper rings. I like the combination of something simple with something loud.

This is the first summer for yonks that I’ve felt properly summer-ready. For that I thank the early June spell of scorching sunny weather, oppressive at times but I can handle that – I need all the vitamin D I can get. To accompany, there has been a new scent to match every type of summer day. From light fruit-fests for picture-postcard weekends away, to green and serene scents for the cooler evenings, here are the summer scents that I have currently on rotation. (more…)
