I think I first read about Paula Gerbase’s own name brand in The Gentlewoman. Known for her womenswear line, 1205, as well as being the creative director of John Lobb, her style is certainly very gentlewomanly.

1. WHAT TO BUY FROM UNIQLO X J.W.ANDERSON

Uniqlo J.W. Anderson LifeWear
Uniqlo unveiled its J.W. Anderson LifeWear collaboration last week, which will launch with 33 pieces in September in the U.K. My guess is that the menswear will sell better than the women’s and those ruffle skirts will get left on the rail. I love the tartan Ultra Light Down Jacket as a vivid insulation piece to wear under another layer. (more…)

1. OSMAN FOR AMAZON FASHION

Someone is giving Osman an almighty great push on the PR and marketing front as he seems to be popping up everywhere at the moment. I just noticed this Osman collection on Amazon.co.uk and surprisingly, it looks really luxe and beautiful. Amazon has tried hard to sell high end brands on its site but it never quite achieves the Net-a-Porter aesthetic that I’m guessing it’s aiming for. Until now. (more…)

1. PAULA GERBASE HEADS TO JOHN LOBB

This is rather exciting news for John Lobb. The British shoemaker, owned by Hermes, has appointed Paula Gerbase as artistic director. I don’t know the full story but I’m guessing the brand wants to expand beyond footwear (Berluti-style), and hiring a buzzy young luxury designer is a good way to do it. (more…)
