What to steal from the menswear shows: Saint Laurent SS15

Saint-Laurent-Ss15-DazedMagazine

Leaving aside if there’s anything ‘new’ being said at Saint Laurent, on a basic ‘want’ level there’s plenty I found to love from the menswear SS15 show. What to steal from the menswear shows: Loewe SS15

Jonathan Anderson’s new-look Loewe has has rave reviews so far, with its reworked logo, ad campaign and SS15 menswear all giddily received by the critics. For spring-summer 2015, Anderson’s inspiration came from pre-rave Ibiza references so it’s heavy on rustic-looking but luxurious fabrics and simple, bohemian shapes (given Anderson’s ultra-modern ambi-sexual treatment).

Raf Simons / Sterling Ruby AW14/15 Campaign

For one season only there’s no Raf Simons collection. Instead, there’s Raf Simons/Sterling Ruby, a genuine 50/50 collab that’s as much art as it is fashion. Question is, who will be first to get their hands on the handpainted coat (and will they model it for Tommy Ton)…?

But there are plenty of other reasons to head to this genteel pocket of London, not least its new retail focus. If you skew to the types of brands sold on Mr Porter or Tres Bien and have a Scandi ‘lagom’ attitude to getting dressed, then this is your kind of shopping street. (more…)
