There’s something about the French Uniqlo collabs that really hit the mark for me. The Ines de la Fressange collections are consistently good and the Lemaire ones have some great knitwear and bold colour pieces. Meh, January is dragging is it not? Time for some prettiness in the guise of a mid-month pick-me-up or two. Olympia Le-Tan’s rose candle for Diptyque is a good one to start with, the feelgood rose scent should lift spirits without the need to leave your nest. (more…)

1. JUST BURBERRY
I got to attend the unveiling of the new Burberry Christmas ad in the Regent Street flagship on Tuesday and as expected, it was fun, stylish and very British. And it totally made me want to see Billy Elliot. The celeb-filled event completely overshadowed the week’s other Burberry news, that the brand is consolidating all its sub-brands under one big Burberry-checked umbrella. So no more Burberry Brit, London or Prorsum – just ‘Burberry’ (which is what we all called it anyway). (more…)

1. EBAY VALET IS HERE
It seems everyone’s trying to crack the luxury fashion resale nut. In the same week that UK-based Covetique closed, eBay extended its eBay Valet service to include high end fashion (helped by Garance Dore, above). eBay Valet is the service that allows you to box up your fashion rejects and let someone else take care of the listing.
