I’m not surprised people are discovering the therapeutic effects of skating on mental health. Since the pandemic there’s been a huge rise in interest in roller skating which seems to be gaining even more momentum now we’re free to mingle.

From jam skating (dance meets skating) to street skating, there are all manner of niche roller skater communities cropping up that bring people together and allow them to offload their mental and physical stress. (more…)

I think we can all agree that an after-effect of The Pandemic is a shift towards more stylish, comfort-conscious footwear. While I managed to swerve the pool slides craze and Crocs mania, I’m happy to see so much more choice in footbed sandals, fisherman sandals (like Mari Giudicelli’s above) and dressy summer flats.

Props to the NYT for this fine history lesson on the mullet. One of my least favourite hairstyles, the do has been resurrected on the catwalk by none other than Guido Palau, whose photo of model Arina Besedina from the Alexander McQueen SS22 show has an otherworldly Bowie-esque beauty. (more…)
