Get ready for another stealth-luxe handbag line, this one’s coming from WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie. The minimalist menswear accessory brand now has a women’s leather range, currently on sale exclusively at Barneys. “Our female fans have been egging us on to unleash this for a long time. There was definitely a pent-up demand for it,” co-founder Byron Peart told Style.com. (more…)

How influential are fashion influencers?

There’s an interesting shift going on in fashion right now, that Fashionista summed up quite succinctly. It’s all about those stylish women whose job descriptions you can’t quite put your finger on because they morph so readily from one thing into another. It all stems from street style though, a certain fashion insider with a certain look, who gets a following on blogs then on her own Instagram (it’s usually a ‘her’) and then… lands her own collection. WAH Nails launches a full product line

It’s five years since I first wrote about Sharmadean Reid and WAH Nails and wow, hasn’t the nail art landscape changed since then? I’d say that Reid and Sophy Robson have contributed hugely to the profits of the big beauty brands by bringing nail art into the fashion mainstream.

So it’s about time we got a WAH London product line and yes it’s is a comprehensive one. (more…)

There’s a lot of buzz around Russian designer-artist Gosha Rubchinkiy right now and the ICA has tapped into the curiosity by inviting him to discuss his multi-faceted approach to fashion at its Culture Now talks event on August 29th ~~31st. I would give you the details, except the tickets have already sold out. Soz.~~ [UPDATE: The curator, Angela Hill has left a comment to point out that the talk is actually on the 29th and there are now a few more tickets available.]
