The Olympics is on pause and Tokyo is at risk of a lockdown, but Shiseido is hoping to lift the spirits with its new J-wellness brand, Baum.

A beautiful ageless and genderless line of high end skincare and wellness products, the 45-item line include make-up removers, cleansers, hand creams, a ‘face massage mask’ and room fragrances inspired by forest bathing and the ‘power of the trees’. (more…)

Buy it now: The Sunspel 45R collaboration has arrived

I just saw the new Sunspel x 45R collection in the Sunspel window and it looks great. I love the sun and cloud print tee* (above). IRL all the details are on point; the proportions, the thickness of the neckband and the quality of the cotton.

I didn’t notice the cotton scarves* the first time but they look really nice on the website – almost frame-worthy. (more…)



A pop of optimism (and a timely red lip) at Hermes AW20

It feels like every show season I’ve covered for the last God knows how many years has referenced some sort of uncertain dystopian future. Economic, political, ecological and now major health pandemic. I’m bored of writing about protective armour-like layers and ominous colour palettes. Bring me the light! The joy! A glimmer of hope! Or maybe just these primary coloured pops of minimalism by Hermès.

For Hermès AW20, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski took unexpected inspiration from her design hero, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. (more…)
