Dear LVMH, please can you slow it down with the store openings, exhibitions, out-of-the-way fashion shows and, well, everything else? I’m breathlessly trying to keep up. Next week is the Dior Cruise show and the long awaited re-opening of its Bond street flagship, this week was Cannes, Vuitton Cruise and a rather excellent exhibition opening in the LV Bond Street Maison.
Louis Vuitton’s The Art of the Journey is a must-see if you love product design innovation. It spans the entire store, with exhibits starting in the usually-only-for-VIPs top floor private apartment and working their way down. (more…)

Thoughts on Kenzo for H&M, the latest of H&M’s collabs, launching in November? I think it’s going to be one of their better collaborations. Kenzo’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are experts at retail and marketing after all, which are arguably as important as the design elements in these mega collaborations. (more…)
Graduate Fashion Week serves as a very good bellwether of where fashion is at in any given year. I remember in the early years, the overriding influence was a Galliano-flavoured one (think deconstructed slip dresses and bias cutting), followed a few years later by McQueen-esque everything (bumster trousers and severely tailored blazers).
