Remember Mahabis? They’re back



Good to see the return (and improvement of) the OG Mahabis slippers.

These were all over my social media back in the early days and a huge hit with stay-at-home millennials. Until an unfortunate blip in 2018 sent the company hurtling into administration, to be rescued by Simba Sleep founder, James Cox.

Now the original slipper design has been revived as the ‘Curve’ model, a return to Mahabis’ signature silhouette with contrasting rubber sole and toe detail (more…)

This has to be one of the most genius post-Covid launches I’ve seen.

Byredo’s Ben Gorham has teamed up with IKEA to produce a line of scented candles in rustic-chic ceramic holders, which will sell for as little as £5. If there’s one thing we cherish now, it’s things that make our homes feel secure and comforting. Candles were one of the unsurprising successes of lockdown, with Perfumer H reporting an uptick of its hand-poured cult candles at the height of the pandemic and start-ups like Good Candles popping up out of nowhere. Jane Cunningham, aka British Beauty Blogger is launching her first skincare product. And it sounds brilliant. Japanese Cleansing Cloud is a cloud-shaped solid balm bar (£12) that she describes as the tipping point between a cleansing oil and a soft solid balm soap. Positive fashion: Now you can buy your secondhand Levi’s from its own dedicated recommerce site

Secondhand Levi’s have been a thing for as long as I can remember. I can still recall the smell from the endless folded piles of denim at the Emperor of Wyoming, where after ten try-ons you *might* leave with your perfect fit and preferred shade of blue.

In 2015, vintage Levi’s hit the headlines when RE/DONE jeans arrived on the scene with its innovative model of tweaking old 501s to a modern fit. It was so successful that Levi’s decided to work with the founders than compete.
