I was brutally critical of the last Uniqlo X Jil Sander collection. I tried on a few pieces in store, found the cut and quality lacking and didn’t give it a second chance. That was 11 years ago. Now it’s time for Uniqlo +J mark two.

Even though we’re braced for a(nother) cold snap, I’ve seen sure signs of spring in the air. I distinctly detected a Turner-esque chink of blue sky peeping through the grey at 430pm a couple of days ago, which to me is a clear indication that green shoots are on their merry way. Man, you don’t know how happy that makes me feel…!
And perfectly timed is the arrival of Christophe Lemaire’s latestUniqlo U SS19 collection, billed as a ‘playful meditation on colour’.

TOPSHOP REJUVENATES BOUTIQUE Topshop wants to put its premium Boutique line back on the shopping agenda for a new generation of customers that are probably more grown-up and discerning than the retail brand has been talking to in recent years. Heads up: the tomas maier and uniqlo collaboration is here only a few days away. If you don’t know who Tomas Maier is, he’s the designer who has been quietly toiling as creative director of Bottega Veneta since 2001. But he’s also well known for his own line of swimwear and casual-luxe separates, which are essential sartorial kit for any self-respecting island hopper.
