I could be wrong, but I had the sneaking feeling that some of the 20-year-old bloggers at the Judy Blame X Jo Malone London breakfast were wondering, “who’s that funny fellow sat at the end of the table tangled up in ribbons and buttons?” I, on the other hand was a little too thrilled.

Right now, all I feel like dressing in is loose, oatmeal-coloured separates of the Joseph dress-up-dress-down variety. If you know Joseph, you’ll know their tailored jackets and trousers are excellent, not least because there are infinite variations within each style, so if you have a penchant for a particular fit, it’s probably there. When it comes to pedicures I feel much the same way as some do about facials. No softly-softly pussyfooting around for me. I want the full reconstructive surgery or nothing.
