Thankfully, Glossier is coming to the rescue with its Glossier London pop-up. Opening at 13 Floral Street, Covent Garden, WC2 for three months from 20th November, it’s switched its signature millennial pink decor for something quirkier and kitsch-er (above). Earlier this week, independent beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury made its airport retail debut at World Duty Free in London Heathrow. The week before, the eponymous brand was one of four indie beauty companies (alongside Anastasia, Hourglass and POLA) to be showcased within the DFS downtown store T-Galleria at Galaxy, Macau.
It’s about time these types of self-made or direct-to-consumer beauty upstarts joined the action within the travel retail space. (more…)
Baby bangs are back! So sez the New York Times in its SS19 beauty trend report and Pinterest in its top 100 2019 trends round-up. Actually, I got on this one early but let’s not split hairs (lol).
Prada’s SS19 show completely nailed it with its Mia Farrow micro-fringed crops under giant hairbands (above and below), while Miu Miu followed suit with 90s Riot Grrrl choppy baby bangs tied up with a skinny bow (more…)
What do we think about no-fragrance fragrance? I’m really conscious when I wear full-bodied scents like Pomegranate Noir or Pardon that I don’t want to overpower people and at this time of year, I’m more drawn towards subtle woods and naturals. I think that might be where my musk obsession came from as well. I love smells that are like ‘skin’ scents, that you smell when you’re close to someone but it’s not trailing in their wake.
This sounds silly but I almost prefer the way my perfume smells at the end of the day, when it’s dried down to practically nothing. I think that’s where I’m coming from with the no-fragrance fragrance thing. (more…)
