I noticed that Cartier is spotlighting its classics archive, an unsurprising move as customers are feeling the pinch and prefer to invest in long-time keepables. Good timing then for this beautiful new Assoulinebook* on Aldo Cipullo, who was responsible for such cornerstone pieces as Cartier’sLove* and Juste Un Clou bracelets.
Two gorgeous French discoveries to share. One I found via the comments section of the New York Times story on the closure of Brooklyn’s Bird boutique, directing me to Landline in Paris (above). The store doesn’t even have a website yet (it’s it in the works), but its few Instagram posts give you a good sense of its rustic ‘garconne’ offer.
I’m getting the vibe of a French Labour & Wait, where you can pick up traditional French boater hats by Chapellerie Coustillères, classic country knits andMarseille soaps in a nod to nostalgia and safety. (more…)
Love this feature and photo of Jane Birkin in U.S Vogue in which she discusses music, beauty, style, bereavement and the human condition.

“I think at 40 years old, I was at my best, really. Not for me at 20 or 25. Forty is, I think, a great, great age for a girl, 40 and even 50. It’s a lovely age because girls are as fragile as when they’re 15, and they don’t know what’s coming up. They know what they’re losing, but they don’t know what they’re going to get; 40 and 50 is a bit like that. You turn into something else a little bit, and it’s rather exciting. You do rash things. You do rash things because it’s your last chance in lots of ways, so I find that girls of 40 are interesting characters to write for, and 50 too.” (more…)
It’s men’s digital fashion month and couture week at the moment, so I’m trying to keep up with all the content. What I notice is that without the physical shows, it’s really all on the brands to keep the content coming on their various platforms. I missed the Prada menswear Live transmission, so I watched it on IG catch up instead. It was the first Raf-ccia joint menswear collection for Prada, following the womenswear debut last October.(more…)
