Would you buy a monogrammed Burberry trench?

Burberry is surely the king of fashion customisation. So far it has monogrammed scarves, ponchos, perfume bottles and now, trench coats. Starting this week, you can monogram your trench coat using an online tool that gives you up to three initials in a selection of 15 thread colours. The beauty of the online tool is that it lets you preview what your monogrammed trench will look like before you press the ’buy’ button.

The monogramming trend does throw up one quandary for me however. (more…)

On trial: makeup removers from Caudalie and Sensai

In the last year I’ve become a bit of a cleansing fiend and I’ve accumulated quite a good cache of reliable cleansing balms, oils and creams. I still like to try new ones though, especially if they’re ones everyone’s raving about or I’m sent for review.

I’m seriously impressed with Sensai Silky Purifying Cleasing Balm. I’ve tried lots of balms and I find them especially good in the winter as they’re so rich and moisturising. (more…)

LFW highlights: Margaret Howell AW16

What’s new at Margaret Howell for AW16? Lots actually. Shirt collars are super-pointy, winter shorts are a thing, there’s a crepe-soled brogue, and orange is the colour – in raffish crumpled silk. I also love the floppy neck bows and the ankle-grazing trouser length. Can I add that I have one of those slim black leather belts and I wear it with everything. If you buy nothing else, buy a Margaret Howell belt! (more…)
