Discovered via an Instagram ad, Waste Yarn Project takes discarded yarns from knitwear factories and knits them into one-of-a-kind sweaters. Why I like them: the oddball colour combos, the colour blocking, the utilitarian silhouettes. They’re pretty pricy but made for keeps. I especially like the boxy ‘Laerke’ design – see more here. Apparently, we’re about to see a wave of ironic yuppie dressing In the form of nostalgic backward glances to 80s power dressing via the wardrobe departments of The Crown, American Psycho and Wall Street.
While lockdown 1.0 had everyone (but me) wearing sweats and Birkenstocks, it seems young people are feeling deprived of the corporate armour they may never get to experience. (more…)
The clocks just went back so I’m bracing myself for the next few months of brutal weather (alongside everything else). Come on Britain, we can get through this! My cold weather coping strategies? Sweaters, blankets and sugar. I don’t really have any major vices, so I’ll be drowning my lockdown sorrows in Dr Pepper and Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate. Oh and I found the perfect oversize sweater last spring that’s going to be my constant companion for winter – Agnès b’s cashmere AB jumper. (more…)

I was brutally critical of the last Uniqlo X Jil Sander collection. I tried on a few pieces in store, found the cut and quality lacking and didn’t give it a second chance. That was 11 years ago. Now it’s time for Uniqlo +J mark two.
The men’s and women’s collection launches just launched in stores and online on 12th November and looks flawless. (more…)
