What I didn’t love about the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 show: the models’ terrible, slouchy walks, the fugly flipflop-trainer hybrid shoes, the OTT logos. What I loved: the fantastic location with its red concrete ramp (the lead-up to the futuristic Niterói Contemporary Art Museum designed by Oscar Niemeyer), the graphic colour placements, the epic Louis Vuitton ‘boom box’. Thoughts on Kenzo for H&M, the latest of H&M’s collabs, launching in November? I think it’s going to be one of their better collaborations. Kenzo’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are experts at retail and marketing after all, which are arguably as important as the design elements in these mega collaborations. (more…)
