Buy it now: the summer sale edit

Nigel-Shafran-Vogue

Bam! Nothing for ages, then all the sales start at once! Net-a-Porter, Matchesfashion, Liberty, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols all started their sales last week. I’ll be cherry picking my way through but to start with, here’s a quick pick of my current highlights. There’s a ton of Miu Miu and Isabel Marant on sale at Net-a-Porter but be warned, those sizes will go fast (there’s currently only one of these Miu Miu skirts left).

If you’re not over Rockstuds, Valentino’s leopard-spot flats are a bit different and now selling at 30% off at Matchesfashion. That Marc Jacobs ‘Coke-ribbon’ sweatshirt? It’s still kicking around and is 40% off at Net-a-Porter – yours for £720 (but there’s only one size left). And if you’re a lover of McQueen handbags, this red skull-padlock beauty can be yours for £470.01 at Liberty with 30% off. Shop the edit below…

I don’t know the full story but I’m guessing the brand wants to expand beyond footwear (Berluti-style), and hiring a buzzy young luxury designer is a good way to do it. (more…)

The Bicester Brit factor

Bicester Village Designers Collective

What better way to spend a weekend than heading down Oxfordshire way to Bicester Village? If you do, you’ll be well rewarded, with the fifth British Fashion Council Designers’ Collective pop-up offering plentiful pickings of our celebrated womenswear talent. Curated by Yasmin Sewell, this year’s edit is the best yet (no filler!) and better still, it comes with a new art twist. The Royal Academy has jumped on board, so there are limited edition prints to buy from Royal Academians including Gary Hume and Grayson Perry. (more…)

First look: J.W. Anderson Resort 2015

Who needs Tumblr when you have Instagram? J.W.Anderson posted his entire Resort 15 collection on Insta yesterday and proved he can do commercial just as well as experimental. My commercial highlights are the trench coats, the diagonal stripes, the twinset and the boxy Harrington. And please check out the pockets on those trousers…
