Mulberry’s making-of video and more profit rises




Like other luxury leather-goods brands Hermes and Loewe, Mulberry has created a video to celebrate the makers of its highly collectable bags. The video is narrated by CEO Godfrey Davis and shows workers at the factory in Somerset making handbags and talking about the apprentice programme and new factory extension. (more…)



The Vogue online archive has arrived!



The Vogue online archive I mentioned in August has finally become a reality. Here’s the link to prove it. Alas, it ain’t free (individuals pay $1,575 to subscribe for a  year), but it’s still a great idea to give these long lost editorials and articles another lease of life.

TOPMAN LAUNCHES ONLINE MAGAZINE

Topman’s digital zine, Generation launched last week. It’s an eclectic mix of culture and style and from my first look doesn’t seem to be about pushing product, it’s purely content driven. I find it a bit too visually chaotic but I like the variety of content. (more…)



Swatch’s six million dollar watches




Crikey, a collection of Swatch watches sold this week at auction for HK $ 51,707,500 (US $ 6,618,560). The Blum Collection, owned by Swiss businessman Peter Blum and his wife Linda was was one of the most complete collections of Swatches and was sold at a Phillips De Pury & Co auction at The Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong.
