Mulberry’s making-of video and more profit rises
Like other luxury leather-goods brands Hermes and Loewe, Mulberry has created a video to celebrate the makers of its highly collectable bags. The video is narrated by CEO Godfrey Davis and shows workers at the factory in Somerset making handbags and talking about the apprentice programme and new factory extension.
Last week Mulberry announced yet another upswing of profits with total revenues up 62% for the six months ending September 2011. Part of this is due to increased brand awareness globally, including outfitting festival goers (which celebs didn’t wear a Mulberry bag at Glastonbury?), launching new stores and hosting lavish parties for celebs, socialites and bloggers. Its latest soiree held at the Chateau Marmont in LA boasted a poolside PA by girl-of-the-moment Lana Del Rey and guests including Kate Bosworth and Juno Temple.

OK, This article says ‘30% of its bags are made at the Rookery, Mulberry’s factory in Somerset… with plans to increase the percentage of its bags made there from 30% to 40%’.
But I can see how that’s hard to believe when SO many bags are sold worldwide.
