Every year Mr DRG and I talk about going to St Ives and I’ve still never been. Oh well, this summer St Ives (kind of) comes to us with Tate Britain’s new exhibition, Barbara Hepworth: Sculpture for a Modern World. To accompany it, there’s a lovely Hepworth-inspired capsule collection from Margaret Howell, including a smock, work shirt, dungarees and silk scarves. Buy them here. (more…)

THE LFW want list: Margaret Howell and Paul Smith AW15

1 Margaret-Howell-aw15-London-Fashion-week This season’s London Fashion Week was big on straight-to-consumer ‘buy it now’ thinking. But typically, when you really need to buy it now, there’s no such tech to be seen. Ahhh I know, first world blogger probs, eh?

What to steal from the menswear shows: Margaret Howell AW15

What to steal from the Margaret Howell menswear 2015 show? Mainly the coats – dun-coloured peacoats, a structured trench, and the single breasted mac I’ve been looking for for yonks. As always, I look for details. Such as the length of the trousers – a bit too short to show off contrast-coloured socks; the tucked in jumpers, and the fine-knit poloneck worn under a suit jacket. All elements to adopt right now…

London Fashion Week SS15 highlights: Day 3

Yesterday was my favourite LFW day in terms of the designers I love. Preen, Toga, Topshop and Margaret Howell all rank high on my radar.

Preen veered off on an ultra-bright tangent compared to the monochrome minimalism of some of the shows we’ve seen so far. I liked the starker, print-free pieces, especially these jackets with the primary-coloured zips…
