EXCLUSIVE: Who is the secret Chanel tweeter @CC_Linlithgow?



On Tuesday night, coming home from a dinner, I was gripped by the tweets about Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show in Linlithgow, Edinburgh. So many of my Twitter followees were at the show, retweeting tweets from what I assumed was the official Chanel @CC_Linlithgow account. It certainly looked official from what I saw when I logged onto Twitter at home. This ten-day-old Twitter account had aggregated hundreds of Instagrams, Twitpics and nuggets of as-it-happens commentary from the models, press and guests at the show. But as I scrolled through the images, a story unfurled further back to include the entire ten-day build-up to the event, including atmospheric photos of the palace grounds and romantic Linlinthgow scenery. Weekend in Paris: Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs at Les Arts Decoratifs



Despite the intensive schedule of shows and fashiony events, I made a big effort to see some exhibitions in Paris. Of course, I had to start with a fashion one so off I went to the Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs exhibition at Les Arts Decoratifs. As expected, I found myself more drawn to the first half of the exhibition which explores the innovation of luggage-maker Mr Louis Vuitton himself. This was a fascinating history and design lesson and showed great exhibits like the original ‘Never Full’ bag (below) and the trunk that turns in a bed. Brands as content creators: Armani launches Tweet Talks




Latest on the ‘brands as content creators’ tip: Armani is launching a series of discussions around the fashion industry, all to take place on Twitter. Starting on June 1st as part of Armani’s One Night Only in Beijing event, the #ArmaniTweetTalks Q&A discussion will be moderated by Peter Howarth with a panel composed of Vogue China’s Angelica Cheung, ‘publisher and tastemaker’ Hung Huang, fashion critic Godfrey Deeny, Yoox’s Federico Marchetti plus Susie Lau and Tommy Ton (you know who they are, right?). On advertising as editorial and Burberry’s SS12 campaign



This time last year I was in the thick of researching an article for H&M magazine on the increasingly mainstream appeal of fashion advertising. I spent hours refreshing The Fashion Spot forums hungry for news of the emerging SS12 ad campaigns to ensure my summer 2011 feature was up to date. (more…)
