Chanel’s cheery spring beauty collections always arrive just when you’re reaching winter breaking point. The ChanelNeapolis New City SS18 collection arrived in January, but it’s taken me a while to take the pics because… the darkness, people!
Anyway, I’m really enjoying the scenic sojourns that Chanel’s creative director of beauty, Lucia Pica takes us on. Her latest is a trip to her hometown of Naples, taking in sunsets, local greenery and ancient frescoes to inspire the colour palette and textures of the make-up.
Burberry’s youth play Burberry swapped out its interactive show format this season with a much-simplified version. In recent seasons it has created cultural exhibitions as its catwalk backdrop that are then open to the public for a week or so. This season – Christopher Bailey’s last collection for the brand – it took place in a vast, dark warehouse with plain Jane chairs lining the perimeter.
If you’ve been wondering what Gucci Westman has been up to since leaving her Revlon artistic director post a few years ago, I have news. Her own-name beauty line, Westman Atelier is about to launch, has just launched, a complexion-first no-make-up-make-up brand that’s been years in the making. (UPDATE: You can buy it at Barneys here).
