I’m finally starting to feel myself emerge from the hellhole of winter (I felt the blues so badly this year!) into the first flush of spring. Last week I stopped wearing thermals under my jeans, I’ve been spritzing on the colognes (I’m back on the Hermes Eau de Pamplemousse Rose) and the stripy tees have come out of storage. And this week I’ve noticed so many good, energising things on the new-in pages.

& Other Stories is brilliant at the moment – I tried on these red cat-eye sunglasses in store at the weekend and I didn’t want to take them off. (more…)

What will Burberry 3.0 with Riccardo Tisci look like?

Well, I wasn’t expecting this! I was really hoping for Phoebe Philo at Burberry, but it appears the rumours that she’s not going anywhere else following her Celine departure are true. So news broke today that Riccardo Tisci will replace Christopher Bailey as chief creative officer of Burberry from 12th March.

It will be a relief for the internal teams. Having a directionless brand is not good for morale, and Tisci certainly has form for reinvention and strong, decisive branding. (more…)

Save the date for 20th April, when The Shop At Bluebird’s new department store style venue (complete with sunlit central atrium and rooftop terrace) will open in an old coach station venue, recently renovated by Covent Garden property management firm CapCo. The new Floral Street location called Carriage Hall will open with a brand new Jigsaw next door and count designer stores including Kent & Curwen, Agnes b and Paul Smith as upscale neighbours.
