First look at Westman Atelier, the Gucci Westman beauty line
If you’ve been wondering what Gucci Westman has been up to since leaving her Revlon artistic director post a few years ago, I have news. Her own-name beauty line, Westman Atelier is about to launch, has just launched, a complexion-first no-make-up-make-up brand that’s been years in the making. (UPDATE: You can buy it at Barneys here).
I have such a beauty crush on Gucci! Her minimalist 90s ‘real skin’ aesthetic has never really gone out of fashion for me, despite the craze for over-emphasised Instagram make-up. In the real world, I prefer make-up that just makes my skin look more even-toned and revitalised, rather than changing the shape of my nose or the depth of my forehead.
If you love Bobbi Brown, Burberry Beauty and Victoria Beckham for Estee Lauder, then the Westman Atelier line is probably aimed at you. Westman is targeting ‘older millennials and above’, with a capsule range of six products to start with. This includes foundation, cheek colours, a highlighter and a contour stick. And there’s a big focus on infusing products with non-toxic skincare ingredients, although not everything will claim to be ‘natural’.
Price-wise, the line is luxury (think magnetic closure highlighters for $48) and it will launch in Barneys New York first and online at westman-atlier.com (the name Gucci is not allowed, ever). Please bring it to London soon… (Read more here.)
