Bethann Hardison Invisible Beauty film

Tickets booked!

Bethann Hardison’s documentary film, Invisible Beauty is showing at the Tribeca Film Festival next week and Londoners will get their turn in July.

It promises to be a fantastic treat as she has codirected the film with Frédéric Tcheng (of Halston and Dior and I fame). If you haven’t heard of Hardison, she’s an ex-model and fashion advocate, perhaps best known for starting the Black Girl’s Coalition, celebrating and promoting Black models. (more…)

I finally managed to get stuck into the Willi Smith community archive – part of the recent Cooper Hewitt Willi Smith: Street Couture exhibition – with its immersive oral history from friends and customers. It’s so brilliantly done, giving you a real sense of the designer, the man and his influence on his creative community. (more…)

The September issues have come to save us

Vogue Italia September issue 2020 featuring Bethann Hardison

September is going to be a memorable month. Furlough schemes ending, kids (and teachers) going back to school in the New Normal, and some businesses tentatively reopening their offices.

It will be challenging but one must remain optimistic. Stepping into the role of chief optimism officer for the month: print magazines. More specifically, the September issues. (more…)

HAROLD FEINSTEIN. I’ve loved street photography and street photographers ever since seeing an unforgettable Garry Winogrand exhibition at The Hayward as a student.
