Mr Porter and Cos, could there be a better combination? Clearly they thought not. Coming May 7th is a capsule collection boasting the sort of clean lines and versatile colour palette that spell success for both parties. I’ll be having a sniff around for the best bits so watch this space. (more…)



What he wants: a classic watch (that won’t break the bank)

Certain men are a nightmare to buy gifts for. I know, I live with one. But one of the safest things you can buy is a classic watch. They don’t have to be expensive, there are a few brands I like a lot that plug the gap between high street and luxury, are nicely designed and well made.

Uniform Wares is interesting because it has recently adapted its business model. The UK-based brand of clean, unisex timepieces is now positioned as a progressive luxury quartz brand, bridging the gap between mass market quartz brands and the quartz offerings by the likes of Tag Heuer, Cartier and Chanel. Menswear AW14 edit: fantasy shopping for Mr DRG



It’s new-season new-in time at Mr Porter, so I couldn’t resist doing a little fantasy shopping for Mr DRG. There’s no question that I have to include a little Saint Laurent and Paul Smith in my edit, they both consistently deliver on cut, colour and print (this geometric pocket square is just jazzy enough in its muted colour palette). Sunspel‘s basics are another easy inclusion, you can’t get more classic than its loopback sweats in old-school navy. Sachajuan is a Swedish haircare line and I will confess it’s the packaging that’s speaking to me here. And for an understated sneaker that’s a step up from a Stan Smith, there’s no arguing with the grey suede Original Achilles from Common Projects
