Filippa K ss13 campaign images and a jolly nice jacket

Filippa K is one of those labels that I see at press days but not really in shops. And as it’s pretty low key I don’t actively seek it out. But I love what I’ve seen for ss13, especially this softer version of an MA1 jacket with rose gold detailing, shown on Julia Stegner (one of my favourite models, look at that swanlike neck!). Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Linlithgow collection tweets up a storm

Chanel, Scotland, tartan, kilts, twinsets… what’s not to love in the latest Chanel Métiers d’Art show at Linlithgow Palace in Edinburgh? I’ll admit I have a love-hate relationship with Chanel RTW but this ticked most of my ‘love’ boxes. Vogue Paris cover: timeless or lazy?

I just clocked this Vogue Paris November cover. Well, I can’t tell whether it’s old or new. It’s got a slightly muted quality and the ‘girls’ are in standard ‘classic Vogue cover’ uniform of 501s and white shirt – a look we’ve seen a million times (and I personally never tire of). Daria, Stephanie and Lauren could all be in their 30s-40s and going by hair, make-up, styling, lighting, even the colour of the coverlines, this could be from any time between the late 80s and now. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Is it classic, or lazy and a bit predictable? I haven’t made my mind up but my instinct says it’s timeless and beautiful. What do you think?
