OK, Arket hasn’t opened yet but first impressions are rather promising. It helps that the press day was meticulously merchandised, the catering was fantastic and the goody bag contained a useful duo of linen tea towel and ‘good’ olive oil.

Books are OK to spend money on, right? They’re objects of learning and curiosity and they’re also symbolic of taking time in a sped up word. Straw bags and London life are a tricky combination

I wish I was the kind of person who had a use for straw basket bags in my everyday life. Alas, I’m far too pragmatic; my default is a sensible leather tote that holds an umbrella and a ton of other practicals, rather than a bikini and a lip balm.
