Meet Finematter: Net-a-Porter for jewellery

Finematter jewellery ecommerce DTC - photo by Hasse Nielsen

Watch out Net-a-Porter, Matchesfashion and Farfetch; Finematter is the fine jewellery site coming to steal your crown.

I first got wind of the Danish DTC jeweller (pay wall) a few weeks ago. Founded by Caroline Chalmer and Mie Ejdrup, two retail strategy veterans, with influencer Pernille Teisbæk on board as a creative advisor, it’s the clean, serene jewellery etailer for the #OldCeline set and, crucially, the woman who buys fine jewellery for herself. Shop the post: Where to buy the perfect cardigan

Thakoon cropped wool cardigan

Back when I worked full time on magazines, we had something called an office cardigan. I‘m not sure if that’s solely the domain of ‘fashion cupboards’, where random fashion samples routinely go unclaimed, but the – usually oversized, grandad style – cardigan would be duly summoned whenever the air con was a little over-zealous, or someone was feeling a bit hungover under the weather. Perfect pairing: Levi’s and Agnès b

The clocks just went back so I’m bracing myself for the next few months of brutal weather (alongside everything else). Come on Britain, we can get through this! My cold weather coping strategies? Sweaters, blankets and sugar. I don’t really have any major vices, so I’ll be drowning my lockdown sorrows in Dr Pepper and Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate. Oh and I found the perfect oversize sweater last spring that’s going to be my constant companion for winter – Agnès b’s cashmere AB jumper. (more…)

Gentlewoman style: Aimé launches its own fashion line

Aimé London shirt collection

A new collection from a long-running retailer.

Aimé is a bit of a local secret in Notting Hill; the go-to destination for the likes of A.P.C and Isabel Marant for the yummy mummies of the late 90s before the rest of the world Westbourne Grove caught up. Now the Parisian garconne look is a global style trope and Aimé wants to design the uniform. (more…)
