Shirt Tales

Just a heads up on some shirt news. Grazia alerted me to these natty ASOS collar tips (above) which I’m definitely going to snap up to adorn my Equipment and Matches silk shirts.

And remember the CeCe Toppings Peter Pan collars I gushed about two weeks ago? You can buy them in the UK now. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I hooked up CeCe Toppings with The Style Director (a new site I have been working with) and you can choose between the round and pointed collars in white.

Tom Ford Beauty arrives today

I could have done without Tom Ford’s cheesy infomercial but everything else about his new Tom Ford Beauty line is as lush and lavish as to be expected. Full disclosure: I’m a packaging whore so I’m all about the weighty almost-black (actually ‘mahongany’, which replaces the white and gold) lipsticks cases and golden compacts that have suitably luxe clunk-click closures. (more…)

Pop stars and their Nikes

I just spotted these 1970s Bob Marley Nikes (above) on Street Etiquette’s Tumblr. I love the old school running shoe shape and the colour combination (I call these Matthew Williamson colours as he always does pink/jade/turquoise together very well) , probably because they reminded me a bit of my own custom Nike IDs.

Nike launched its custom service in London in 2006 and I was invited to try it out. As you can see, I never got around to wearing them… they were just a bit too jazzy to pull off. Like a lot of things, I imagine they’d look great once they’re a bit kicked about and dirtied but in order to get to that stage, they have to be worn. After I’d made mine I also thought they were similar to a Daisy De Villeneuve artwork…

On a vague pop-stars-and-their-Nikes note, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on these Nike Night Track disco sneakers – as worn by Michael Jackson…
