Acne-clutch-Aw13

Buying clothes online isn’t always straightforward. Accessories on the other hand? A different story. Monnier Frères, the accessory etailer has one of the best accessory edits on the web, including Celine sunnies, that Acne box clutch and leathergoods from one of my favourite quiet-luxe brands, Valextra.

When you buy from Monnier Frères you get worldwide delivery in 24 hours and guaranteed free returns within 30 days. If you’re still not sold, I have even better news. I’ve been given an exclusive code for my readers that allows you £80 off when you spend £250. Just enter disneyrollergirl80 in the discount code box when you check out. I very rarely do discounts or giveaways on here but Monnier Frères is a great site worth bending the rules for.

If you’re planning on selfgifting a handbag or accessory from the likes of Alexander Wang, Chloe, Valentino or any of those other usual lux suspects, you may as well take advantage of this deal. Here are a few suggestions to get you started…

Supplementing the online offer are pop-up shops, so far in Gerrards Cross and Harvey Nichols. Nine months on, I caught up with Winser to find out how the first year of trading is going, what the challenges have been and what’s next for the brand… (more…)

First look at Joseph SS14

2014 will be a big year for Joseph. Having just celebrated its 40th anniversary, next year will mark its returns to the LFW catwalk. I have extremely high hopes. Having just seen the SS14 look book and collection, I can promise a return to the fashioned-up basics and utilitarian tailoring that Joseph is loved for.

The styling here is great, and very reminiscent of Joseph’s 90s heyday. We’ve all seen this look imitated lately by Celine, Stella et al, but Joseph did it the first time around, along with Helmut and Jil. Right down to the too-short pants (Joseph always cut a mean trouser), pool slides (styled by Jane How) and grunge-luxe make-up (shoutout to my girl Shinobu). Judge for yourself…

OMG, have you seen Anna Sui’s Disney make-up!

Anna-Sui-Disney-Asos 2

This could well be the cutest beauty packaging of the year. Anna Sui’s Minnie Mouse nail polish bottle, bow palette and lipstick are quite gobsmacking. And in the case of the lipstick, almost ununsable. I mean, smoosh that bullet into your lips? Way to ruin the effect! (more…)
