Love this story on what’s thought to be the oldest pair of women’s jeans in existence. They’re Levi’s of course, and were owned by Viola Longacre, a student teacher who bought then in the early 30s. The cut is surprisingly contemporary (I’d snap these up in a heartbeat), which proves why people lust after vintage Levi’s. (more…)

Before Uniqlo there was Muji, an emporium of well-made Japanese utilitarian basics where I religiously stocked up on winter camisoles (until they tweaked the ones I loves and I defected to HeatTech). Over the years Muji’s clothing offer has been sidelined by the might of Uniqlo, but it’s fighting back with its New York super store. (more…)



The Louis Vuitton dream coat

This is possibly my favourite coat from the AW14 collections. It’s men’s, it’s double-face cashmere, it’s Louis Vuitton and it’s way out of my budget.

It’s perfect though. I love this style of overcoat and the maroon stripes add a bit of old school military flavour (by way of Helmut Lang). I also like the styling with the wool and alpaca scarf layered underneath. (more…)
