First look at Wales Bonner SS23

Wales Bonner SS23

Dear Louis Vuitton, please put Grace in charge of menswear already!

The Wales Bonner ‘Horizon Blues’ SS23 collection is a wonderful evocation of ‘European heritage meets Afro Atlantic spirit’. But of special note are the pieces tailored by Old Burlington Street’s Anderson & Sheppard. The camel hair overcoat (serving Fran Lebowitz swagger), the cashmere dinner suit, the DB sleeveless jacket and trousers – pure perfection. (more…)

Save the date: Pretend It’s a City

Pretends It's a City New York doc on Netflix with Fran Lebowitz

Something to look forward to in January: Pretend It’s a City on Netflix, a film series about the evolution of New York City over the past several decades, narrated by my favourite New Yorker, Fran Lebowitz with Martin Scorsese. Mark your calendar for January 8th.

UPDATE: OK I’ve started watching and if you rate Fran, you’ll love it. I didn’t realise it’s a series! Martin Scorsese is very sweet, chuckling at Fran’s rants

Quote of the day: Fran Lebowitz on wants vs needs

Fran Lebowitz quote

“I’m very materialistic. Unfortunately, I am also very uninterested in money, so it’s a horrible combination. I have more Anderson & Sheppard suits and jackets than I should. More than I could really afford. Of course, you don’t actually need any of these things, and I have more than I need. That doesn’t mean that I have more than I want, since I seem to be the only American who knows the difference between desire and need. But I enjoy the whole process. There is nothing that I like more than to spend hours looking through swatches. I love deciding between 17 shades of grey.” (more…)
