Save the date: Pretend It’s a City
Something to look forward to in January: Pretend It’s a City on Netflix, a film series about the evolution of New York City over the past several decades, narrated by my favourite New Yorker, Fran Lebowitz with Martin Scorsese. Mark your calendar for January 8th.
UPDATE: OK I’ve started watching and if you rate Fran, you’ll love it. I didn’t realise it’s a series! Martin Scorsese is very sweet, chuckling at Fran’s rants

I’m very excited about this flick. She’s always entertaining….. And with Scorsese? Can’t beat that coupling.
Have the best New Year’s eve possible! Here’s to 2021!

A couple of years ago, flying from Madrid to NYC, I was behind Fran Lebowitz in the security line at the airport. We were both in the premium line so it was just us two with three bored airport employees and she was exactly as I expected. Dressed in her trade mark outfit, anxious about being without a cigarette for 6 hours, gruffly polite to the airport staff, she gave off that unmistakeable aura of being a New Yorker even in a foreign airport.

Brilliant, I love this. It could only be her, right?!
